Tour Description

Discover the rich culture and scenic beauty that have inspired some of the most famous French Impressionist painters. On this special vacation, you’ll stay 3 nights each in Paris, Provence, and Nice, enjoying the historic sites, legendary landmarks and splendid scenery. In Paris, it’s an evening you won’t forget when you dine in the Eiffel Tower, take a romantic evening cruise on the Seine River, and see famous sites like the Arc de Triomphe and Notre Dame Cathedral. You’ll visit the Palace of Versailles, home to Louis XIV, and in Giverny, you’ll tour Monet’s famous garden. In Provence, the towns of Avignon, St. Remy-de-Provence, and Aix-en-Provence provide some of the famous settings for noted paintings by Van Gogh and Cézanne. A walking tour, “In the Footsteps of Cézanne,” will introduce you to the Old Town. On the French Riviera, highlights include the popular resort towns of St. Tropez, Cannes and Nice. A panoramic sightseeing tour of Monaco features the 13th-century Prince’s Palace, Casino of Monte Carlo and the Cathedral of Monaco. You’ll learn the secrets of perfume making in nearby Grasse, and visit the quaint village of St. Paul de Vence, home to many past and present artists.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Overnight Flight
Bask in the rich culture and romance of fascinating France. On this special tour, you will explore fabulous Paris, picturesque Provence, and the fun-filled French Riviera. Your journey begins with an overnight flight to Paris.

Day 2: Paris, France
Your tour begins in the magnificent capital city of Paris. Relax during an afternoon at leisure in the "City of Light." This evening, rise high above Paris as you meet your fellow travelers for a special welcome dinner inside the Eiffel Tower. Your day ends perfectly with a romantic Seine River cruise against a backdrop of Paris's glittering skyline. (D)

Day 3: Paris
A panoramic tour of Paris features the breathtaking architecture of the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Place de la Concorde, Place Vendome and the Champs-Elysees. This afternoon you visit the Orsay Museum with its magnificent French Impressionist art collection. (B)

Day 4: Paris - Versailles - Giverny - Paris
Begin your day with a guided visit of Louis XIV's magnificent Palace of Versailles. Claude Monet's famous painting "Waterlilies" comes to life with a visit to the artist's lovely home and palatial gardens in Giverny. This evening you are invited to the Left Bank for a fabulous cabaret dinner show at Paradis Latin, Paris' oldest cabaret theatre. (B, D)

Day 5: Paris - TGV Train - Avignon
Journey to the papal city of Avignon aboard the high speed TGV Train. A delightful walking tour of Avignon explores the town's hidden treasures, including a visit to the Papal Palace. Your day ends with a sumptuous dinner and fine French wine at a wonderful Avignon restaurant. (B, D)

Day 6: Avignon- Aix-en-Provence - Avignon
Today you will travel to Aix-en-Provence where you will embark on a walking tour, "in the footsteps of Cezanne," featuring the markets and monuments of the old city. This afternoon, visit the famed vineyards of Provence, and enjoy a tour and tasting at a local winery. (B)

Day 7: Avignon - St. Remy-de-Provence - Les Baux de Provence - Avignon
A delightful day of sightseeing awaits as you explore the charming towns and countryside of Provence, including historic Arles and charming Les Baux-de-Provence. Visit the historic Roman monuments of St. Remy-de-Provence before returning to Avignon. (B, D)

Day 8: Avignon - St. Tropez - Cannes - Nice
Today you journey to St. Tropez, a popular resort frequented by artists and movie stars. Enjoy time to explore this playground of the rich and famous. After a stop in Cannes, it's off to Nice, situated on the glittering shores of Cote d'Azur. (B, D)

Day 9: Nice - Monaco - Nice
The scent of fragrant flowers fills the air as you enjoy a morning stroll through the local Flower Market. Next, see Place Massena, the town's center of activity, and the lively seafront Promenade des Anglais. Then it's off to the Principality of Monaco, the glittering gem of the Riviera, where luxury and splendor abound. A panoramic tour highlights the famous Casino of Monte Carlo, 13th century Prince's Palace, and the Cathedral of Monaco, where Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace are buried. (B)

Day 10: Nice - Grasse - St. Paul de Vence - Nice
Travel to Grasse and learn the secrets of perfume making when visiting a famous perfumerie. You then continue to the quaint village of St. Paul de Vence, situated atop the mountains overlooking the Mediterranean coast. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a very popular Nice restaurant. (B, D)

It's an evening you will not soon forget, as you dine inside one of the most famous landmarks - Paris Eiffel Tower. Each year, more than six million visitors travel to the French capital to catch a glimpse of the 1,000 tons of painted iron that tower more than 1,00 feet into the sky. As a guest of Collette Vacations, you'll go one step further.....
Travel up to the tower's first level and enter "Altitude 95," a lovely restaurant located nearly 200 feet off the ground. You'll feel as of your hovering over the City of Light. Large, panoramic windows offer a view of the city below as millions of lights twinkle in the distance. Gaze out over the river Seine and behold a marvelous view of a nearby Trocadero.
