of the old town showcases the unique astronomical clock
and the statue-lined Charles Bridge. Next, board your
ship for a five-night Danube River Cruise through the
Wachau Valley, one of Europe’s most beautiful areas.
Your cruise proceeds to Vienna, where the baroque
marvels of Schoenbrunn Palace, summer retreat to the
Habsburg dynasty for more than 200 years, will amaze.
Set sail for Hungary and the unforgettable city of
Budapest. Called the “Queen of the Danube,” Budapest is
truly one of the world’s most beautiful cities with Buda
on one side of the river, and Pest on the opposite bank.
Here, you will visit Fishermen’s Bastion and Mathias
Church, as well as have the opportunity to explore
historic Old Buda during your leisure time. A farewell
dinner celebrates the end of a marvelous trip along the
Danube.

Day
1: Overnight Flight
Welcome as you join Collette Vacations in exploring the
hidden treasures of Prague and the sights and sounds of
a seven night Danube River cruise. Capture the scenic
splendors and cultural richness of the former Hapsburg
Empire on visits to Prague, beautiful Budapest, and
imperial Vienna. Enjoy the leisurely pace of cruising
one of Europe's great rivers - no packing and unpacking;
in-depth shore excursions; dining and entertainment; and
free time to explore historic cities and towns.
Day 2: Prague, Czech Republic - Tour Begins
Your tour begins in Prague, capital of the Czech
Republic. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure to relax or
explore this magical city. This evening, join your
fellow travelers at a welcome dinner. (D)
Day 3: Prague
Your morning city tour shows you the highlights of the
"Golden City," including the castle district, St. Vitus'
Cathedral and Wenceslas Square. The afternoon is at
leisure for you to independently explore Prague's Old
Jewish Quarter and its historic cemetery, synagogues and
museum. (B)
Day 4: Prague - Passau, Germany - Board Ship
After breakfast, travel the scenic Czech landscape,
crossing the German border to Passau where you board the
M/S Amadeus Rhapsody cruise ship. Mid-afternoon, cruise
a lovely stretch of the Danube known as the Schlögener
Schlinge. Later, join your fellow travelers in meeting
the crew prior to enjoying a welcome cocktail followed
by dinner. (B, D)
Day 5: Vienna, Austria
Get an up-close look at Vienna with a special city tour.
A center of classical music, art, theatre and history,
Vienna is the "City of the Waltz" and is graced with a
spectacular array of gothic, baroque, and neoclassical
monuments and palaces that showcase its architectural
marvels. Driving along the Ringstrasse, you will see the
magnificent buildings of the Austrian national opera,
parliament, the Burgtheater and City Hall. You will also
see impressive St. Stephan's Cathedral, whose towering
450-foot spire soars above the city. Enjoy an afternoon
at leisure to stroll the shop-lined pedestrian-only
Karntnerstrasse and sample Vienna's shopping, famous
pastries and cafes. Early this evening the ship leaves
port and sails downstream towards Budapest. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Budapest, Hungary
As you arrive in Budapest, the magnificent buildings
lining the right and left banks of the Danube are an
unforgettable sight. A guided sightseeing tour of this
beautiful city features Fisherman's Bastion, Heroes
Square, the neo-gothic Parliament building, Gellert Hill
and Mathias Church, where the last two Hungarian kings
were crowned. Following dinner, enjoy a delightful
evening cruise with glorious views of the beautifully
floodlit buildings on both banks of the river as local
performers provide traditional gypsy music and
entertainment. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Kalocsa
This morning, the ship berths at Kalocsa, a charming
town known for its traditional Hungarian embroidery and
the cultivation of paprika, Hungary's famous spice. An
optional excursion is available to a traditional "csarda"
(farm) for an unforgettable performance of Hungarian
horsemanship. Dinner this evening is followed by
Danube-inspired music, performed by local Hungarian
musicians. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Budapest
Enjoy a morning at leisure to independently explore the
sights and sounds of Budapest, known as the "Queen of
the Danube". You may opt to take a stroll along the
river, shop the fashionable boutiques or visit a museum
to drink in a collection of old masters. Following lunch
on board, an optional excursion is available to the
charming artists' village of Szentendre, the former
Renaissance capital of Visegrad, for a magnificent view
of the Danube Bend, the Borzsony Mountains and Esztergom,
known for its world-famous cathedral. Or, you may choose
to just stay aboard and sail upstream through the Danube
Bend, one of the most beautiful scenic stretches of the
Danube, also known as the "Hungarian Wachau". Early
evening, the ship departs for Slovakia. (B, L, D)
Day 9: Bratislava, Slovakia - Vienna, Austria
Begin your day with a guided city tour of historic
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. Known as Pressburg
until 1945, Bratislava is one of the most famous cities
on the Danube. From its spectacular castle, enjoy the
marvellous view stretching beyond the border into
Austria. Other attractions include the old city gates
and the Baroque palaces that have survived since the
days of kings and emperors. Enjoy free time to stroll
the pedestrian-only area, which includes St. Martin's
Cathedral, the Town Hall and Michael's Gate. Later, sit
back, relax and enjoy the sights as you journey along
the Danube to Vienna. (B, L, D)
Day 10: Weissenkirchen
In the morning, the boat berths at the idyllic
wine-growing town of Weissenkirchen. Explore the beauty
of the Wachau Valley on an optional full day excursion
exploring the region. The option takes you to Durnstein,
a famous wine-growing town, and the 900-year old Baroque
Benedictine abbey of Melk, where you will go on a guided
tour and attend an organ recital. To end a splendid day,
you will be invited to sample a fine selection of local
wines in the restaurant of the abbey. This evening the
captain invites you to a wonderful gala dinner followed
by music for your dancing pleasure. (B, L, D)
Day 11: Passau - Munich Airport - Tour Ends
After breakfast, you disembark the ship and transfer to
Munich International Airport where your tour ends. (B)
