In Portsmouth, Britain’s premier naval base, visit the fascinating D-Day Museum. A ferry-ride across the English Channel allows you to retrace the route of the D-Day invasion. At the Pointe Du Hoc Ranger Memorial, see where the 2nd Ranger Battalion scaled 100-foot cliffs on that fateful June morning to seize the fortified enemy position. Visit the hallowed grounds of Omaha Beach, where 60 years ago the sand was laced with the bombs and bullets of the most vicious fighting of World War II and pause for remembrance at the U.S. Military Cemetery. Upon arrival in Reims, you will visit the Museum of the Surrender, where the German High Command surrendered in 1945. See where the Battle of the Bulge was fought in Bastogne, Belgium and visit the grave of General “Blood and Guts” Patton, in the Third Army Cemetery at Hamm, Luxembourg. Then travel the Autobahn to Berlin where an extensive sightseeing tour highlights the sights associated with World War II including the Brandenburg Gate, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, the Reichstag Building, and the remains of the Berlin Wall. Uniquely For You                                                       Omaha Beach
Visit Omaha Beach, today a site for rest, relaxation and remembrance. But, 60 years ago, in June 1944, this beach was the center of a war where bombs and bullets laced the sand. The D-Day landings were the largest military operation in history and the beaches of Normandy bore the brunt of the invasion. It was Omaha that witnessed the most vicious fighting of World War II. Early dawn that chilly June morning in 1944, almost 7000 boats hit the beaches and tens of thousands of soldiers from Canada, the USA, and UK and elsewhere began pouring onto the shores. While little physical evidence remains of this battle today, its impact on the lives of so many, and the history of our world, will forever be remembered.
