to California’s beautiful “City by the Bay.” You’ll see
San Francisco’s most famous landmarks including the
Golden Gate Bridge, the imposing Twin Peaks, and
Fisherman’s Wharf during your leisurely 3-night stay.
With a full day to explore on your own, you’ll truly get
a sense of this popular city. Perhaps you’ll explore the
shops in Union Square or ride the famed cable cars up
and down thrilling hills. The most famous wine growing
region in the country, Napa Valley, is where you will
enjoy a vineyard tour complete with a special wine
tasting. Traveling over the Sierra Nevada Mountains
brings you to your destination for the last 3-nights of
your journey, the resort gambling town of Lake Tahoe.
From the famous Old West town of Virginia City, whose
heritage recalls the days of gold and silver mining, to
Reno, with its reputation as the “Biggest Little City in
the World,” you’ll have ample time to discover the
history of this region or to simply relax amidst
beautiful surroundings. While in Lake Tahoe, you may
enjoy a wonderful dinner cruise depending on the time of
year you are traveling. You will also tour the Cal Neva
tunnel which Frank Sinatra installed when he was owner
and perhaps later try your hand at Lady Luck in one of
the many resort casinos.

Day
1: San Francisco, California - Tour Begins
Your tour begins in San Francisco, California's beautiful "City
by the Bay," with a leisurely stay in one of the world's most
popular cities. Tonight you will meet your fellow travelers at a
welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2: San Francisco
Begin your day with a sightseeing tour of the city's most famous
landmarks: the imposing Twin Peaks, the Golden Gate Bridge,
Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf. This evening, enjoy dinner in
San Francisco's famous Chinatown! (D)
Day 3: San Francisco
Your day is at leisure to independently explore the best this
city has to offer. Learn why it is consistently rated one of the
top tourist destinations in the U.S.! You may wish to explore
the shops in Union Square or ride the famed cable cars up and
down San Francisco's thrilling hills.
Day 4: San Francisco - Napa Valley - Lake Tahoe, Nevada
Today you travel to beautiful Napa Valley, the most famous
wine-growing region in the country. While in Napa Valley, tour a
local winery and participate in a special wine tasting. Your
journey then brings you over the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the
resort gambling town of Lake Tahoe. (D)
Day 5: Lake Tahoe - Virginia City - Reno - Lake Tahoe
You begin the day by traveling to Virginia City. This famous Old
West town recalls the heritage of the days of gold and silver
mining. Later, you arrive in Reno, known as "the Biggest Little
City in the World." You will have the afternoon at your leisure
to explore this exciting town. (B)
Day 6: Lake Tahoe
Begin your day with a tour of the Cal Neva tunnel. When Frank
Sinatra owned the Cal Neva, he had a tunnel installed leading
from his private chalet into the main building. During the tour,
you'll hear stories of the Kennedys, Marilyn Monroe and Sammy
Davis Jr., frequent guests of the resort in the 1960's. Then
travel to the southern region of Lake Tahoe to explore the many
casinos and shops at your leisure. A late afternoon departure
transports you to Zephyr Cove for a wonderful dinner cruise on
Lake Tahoe complete with spectacular sightseeing, great food and
unbeatable hospitality. (B, D)
Day 7: Lake Tahoe - Reno - Tour Ends

NOTES:
- Due to tour scheduling,
flights on Day 1 should arrive prior to 4:00 p.m. Flights home
should be booked after 12:00 noon.
- The dinner cruise on Lake
Tahoe is available June 15 - October 15 only. When unavailable,
it will be substituted with an afternoon luncheon cruise on Lake
Tahoe.
