Day
1: San Francisco, California
Tonight meet your fellow travelers and gather for a special
reception and welcome dinner. (D)
Day 2: San Francisco
Today the city's most famous landmarks are yours to discover
during a sightseeing tour highlighting the Golden Gate Bridge,
Fisherman's Wharf and the imposing Twin Peaks. Then, take a
guided walking tour through Chinatown to explore its colorful
history. Tonight, meet popular cooking host Shirley Fong-Torres
to learn the fine art of making dim sum. A traditional Chinese
meal follows. (D)
Day 3: San Francisco
This morning visit the Asian Art Museum, one of the largest
museums devoted exclusively to Asian art. The remainder of your
day is at leisure to explore the shops in Union Square or ride
the famed cable cars over San Francisco's thrilling hills.
Day 4: San Francisco - Napa Valley
Transfer to Napa Valley wine country and enjoy an exquisite
lunch aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train, a splendidly restored
1915 Pullman train rated one of the "20 Best Rail Experiences in
the World." (L)
Day 5: Napa Valley
A private lecture on food and wine pairing begins your day at
COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts, before
exploring the cultural center and museum. Next, a vineyard
expert conducts a private tour and tasting at Silverado
Vineyards and will discuss their history and philosophy of the
winemaking process. (B, D)
Day 6: Napa
Today, a special session at St. Supery Winery and Vineyard
includes sampling various grape varieties to learn how they
blend together to create distinct wines. Create your own blend
and bottle your creation to take home. Tonight enjoy dinner at
Greystone, the amazing restaurant at the Culinary Institute of
America's Napa campus. (B, D)
Day 7: Napa Valley - San Francisco - Tour Concludes
This morning travel back to San Francisco for individual
departures. (B)
