Uniquely For You
Denali National Park |
Welcome to Denali National Park, a
cherished land filled with breathtaking
landscapes and amazing wildlife.
Originally established as McKinley
National Park in 1917, the area is one
of Alaska's largest animal refugees.
Since its inception more than 80 years
ago, the park's vast boundaries have
grown greatly. Renamed Denali National
Park and Preserve in 1980, the park
currently encompasses more than six
million acres - a landmass that's larger
than the state of Massachusetts.
The park is home to a wide range of
flora and fauna, as well as diverse
collection of wildlife. Dall sheep,
caribou, moose and grizzly bears all
call Denali home. The centerpiece of the
park is the towering Mt. McKinley. At
20,320 feet above sea level, McKinley is
North America's highest peak. Fittingly,
the word "denali" translates as the
"high one," the name given by the
Arthabascan Indians. Your day in this
breathtaking park will be highlighted by
a special Tundra Wilderness Tour.
